About

My name is Alicia Armstrong. I am the owner of Perky Petz of Tallahassee. I have over 10 years of pet care experience, and have been operating Perky Petz since 2014. Perky Petz truly is a “home away from home” environment for your pet, much unlike any of your typical boarding facilities in town. I started this business with the mindset that pets are family, and they are always treated as such here. Tallahassee needed an option that provided individualized, loving and affordable care for when families had to travel without their pets. Perky Petz has a three year history of meeting this need to the community.
I believe in using my business to give back to this wonderful community in which we live. We routinely donate services to charity events and work closely with local animal rescue organizations. On a personal level, as well as a business overall, our philanthropic mission is domestic violence awareness. I often speak at community events to raise awareness about this cause, and every October we lead a social media campaign highlighting the link between domestic violence and animal abuse.
I hold a Master’s of Social Work and a Master’s of Public Information, both from Florida State University. (Go Noles!). I enjoy volunteering twice a week with my dog, Harper, at the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital’s Animal Therapy Program. I also enjoy exercise, particularly biking. Most of all, I enjoy pursuing my passion each day of caring for and providing a safe and loving environment for your pet while you are away.
I hope that you will choose the best business in town to care for your pets. We approach each day with a big heart, lots of love and a belief that each animal we care for is a member of our Perky family. I look forward to chatting with you soon, and creating an individualized pet care plan for your furbabies (or non-furry babies, like reptiles- sorry, no kiddos!) so that you can travel without worry.
Xoxo,
Alicia
